India Ramey

Georgia born, Alabama raised and Nashville based Americana and Country artist, India Ramey was singing before she could talk. “When I was a toddler, my Grandmaw would take me to church and I would stand out in the isle and sing my guts out to the choir even though I wasn’t actually saying actual words. The granddaughter of a Sand Mountain, Alabama bluegrass and gospel singer, she came by her love to music honestly. “There was always music around me growing up whether it was Grandaddy’s gospel singing or Saturday house cleaning days with my Mom and sisters singing Fleetwood Mac at the top of our lungs.

India’s musical journey was not typical. “Having grown up poor, there was a lot of pressure for me to ‘go to college and make money’ so I convinced myself that music was a hobby”. Ramey, a domestic violence survivor graduated college, got a law degree and became a domestic violence prosecutor. “I thought if I was helping people like my Mom, I would like being a lawyer more”. Despite her love of helping people, Ramey’s love for music won in the end. She gave up her law career to become a full time musician and songwriter and has never looked back.

Featured as one of the “Must See Acts at SXSW, a Nashville’s Lighting 100 artist of the week, a two-time Americanafest showcasing artist, and one of NPR’s “10 Nashville Artists on the Rise”, India has only continued to rise among the ranks of as one of Country and Americana’s brightest up and coming, emerging artists. Her most recent album, Shallow Graves debuted at number six on the Euro Americana Charts and landed a song as Rolling Stone’s pick of the week. Billboard says of her performance in her 2020 Nashville residency performance, “The rollicking set recalls everyone from Tammy Wynette to Wanda Jackson.” Nashville’s Americana radio station, WMOT says India is the perfect mixture of Loretta Lynn and Neko Case, Rolling Stone describes her as “Part Black Sabbath, part honky-tonk” and the BBC’s Ralph McClean says “India is a singer of the truth, she knows the value of a well-told tale sung with passion and honesty. She is a bright light in the darkness. Long may she shine.”

The Waymores

The Waymores are Atlanta-based married honky tonk Americana duo Kira Annalise and Willie Heath Neal. Media fans include Vintage Guitar who said "While 21st-century Nashville pays lip service to this timeless sound, the Waymores keep it alive" and the Austin Chronicle asserted "The Waymores... combine the bright and brash like June Carter and Johnny Cash..." They are gearing up to release their stunning new long player Greener Pastures on 8/25/23 via Chicken Ranch Records.

The collection was recorded with legendary producer Shel Talmy.

Talmy is a record producer, songwriter and arranger best known for his 1960's work with The Who, The Kinks, David Bowie and many others. In an interview with musician/producer/songwriter Artie Wayne, Talmy says "I'm a hands-on producer, meaning that I always work with the artist on choosing material, doing the arrangements, getting musicians if necessary, choosing the studio and being there for the entire production on through the mixes and mastering." He took the same approach with The Waymores.

Once in Los Angeles, the session was engineered by Grammy award winning guitar player, composer, engineer and songwriter Johnny Lee Schell whose tremendous resume includes work with Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, BB King and Delbert McClinton amongst others.
