The Cold Hearts honor the tradition of classic country/honky tonk music. We like to think of classic country as a style of American music for the working man and women. We hope we can remind you of a time in your life long ago when you hear an old Waylon or Willie song. I personally hear songs like “Blue Eye’s crying in the Rain” and go back to hearing an old six string in the next room as a kid. Music has the power to let us all escape and say “Take This Job and Shove It” and feel it even if we don’t mean it. Come and see us and see what memories we can spark in you.
Bloomington country honky-tonk band The Dew Daddies are back with their old-school brand of shufflin’, toe-tappin, two-steppin’ vintage classic country and original honky-tonk songs. Think Hank Williams, Buck Owens, Waylon, Ray Price, and Cash. The Dew Daddies have opened for Junior Brown, Dale Watson, Wayne Hancock, the Derailers, Robbie Fulks and others. Newest band members and young whippersnappers Hank Ruff and Daniel Deckard bring a youthful exuberance to the Dew Daddies traditional classic country sound and they’ve brought along a few contemporary songs with them that can actually be heard on modern radio – which or course was initially a serious concern to the old farts in the band like the Councilman of Country – Andy Ruff and his trusty bass-man Dave Johnloz.
